COMPUTER CLASSES:
The Library offers hands-on computer classes every month. Pre-registration is required. For complete class descriptions and registration instructions, pick up a copy of their Computer Classes brochure in the library lobby, visit their web site, or call the reference desk.

Continues Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2 - 3 pm. No registration required.

College Admissions 201 / Collegewise will tell you what it really takes to get admitted to schools like Harvard, Stanford, Princeton, Yale and the other 25 or so schools that have far more applications from the most qualified kids than they could ever possibly admit. They will describe what their former students did to set themselves apart, and reveal some specific strategies to improve your chances of admission.

Poetry Slam And Open Mic / Our 1st-Wednesday series continues with open mic, poetry slam, and guest poet Adam Stone -- a slam legend who's been on nine consecutive national slam teams representing Cape Cod, The Boston Cantab, The Boston Lizard Lounge, and The People's Republic of Vermont. For audience members who want to step up to the mike, please register at 6:30 pm and bring 2 original poems of up to 3 minutes each. Program starts promptly at 7 pm. Heroes Story Walk Opening: "Giant Steps To Change The World" By Spike Lee / Learn about heroes of our time -- men and women who stood up for what they believed in. Guess who they are and what they did, as we celebrate their achievements along this story walk in the library. The Story Walk is based on the book "Giant Steps to Change the World" written by Spike Lee and Tonya Lewis Lee and illustrated by Sean Qualls. The Story Walk is open to families with children in grades 1 - 6 beginning Sunday, February 19 and continuing through Sunday, March 25, 2012. Additional Information: Story Walk instructions are available at the Children's Information Desk (The Compass) in The Trove. Participants must sign in there before proceeding on the walk. An adult must accompany children in grades 1 - 3 on the walk. Children in grades 4 - 6 may follow the walk without an adult.

Black History Interactive Read Aloud: "This Is The Dream" / Celebrate February Black History Month by joining us for an interactive reading of the book, "This is the Dream" by Diane Z. Shore & Jessica Alexander and illustrated by James Ransome. Everyone will participate as we follow the students, passengers and leaders who stood up and spoke out against segregation in America. Refreshments to follow. For children in grades 1 - 6 with families. Tickets are given out 30 minutes before the program starts. Please arrive early.
